Diversity is the ultimate telos for all Christians. God’s purpose is to bring together people from every tribe, nation, and tongue. The church then should care about the pursuits of diversity now. Yet, as Revelation 5 & 7 tells us, at the center of the heavenly diversity is a slain lamb. Diversity comes at a cost, a cost many are not usually willing to pay. If the resurrection did not take place, none of that diversity matters. If the resurrection did occur, the power for true diversity, unity in diversity is possible.
